About Your Counsellor
I have 19 years experience of working as a counsellor and psychotherapist and am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy which is the professional organisation for counsellors and psychotherapists. You can find out more about them at www.bacp.co.uk
I am also registered under the Adoption Support Agency Regulatios (2005) as a Post Adoption Counsellor
I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Hertfordshire and also an Advanced Certificate in Person Centred Couples Counselling.
My core training was was in both Psychodynamic and Person Centred Counselling. I recognise the importance of continued professional development and of keeping up to date with advancements in the counselling field and have continued to build on my core training since. This includes specific training in the following areas: Eating Disorders, Obesity, Self Harm, Sexual Abuse, Short Terem Therapy, Adoption.
I am trained to Level II in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which recognises the link between body and psychological issues.
My focus and interest is on you as a person rather than the "problem" that you may feel you are bringing. Within this context I offer counselling for a wide range of issues some of which include:

I works within the ethical gudlines set out within the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and have both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
